Monday Morning Link Party: XVII

Oh, a procrastinator am I: November 7th and I haven’t shown you my kids’ Halloween costumes yet. I’m going to show you Charlie’s today, and hopefully I can wrestle Thor back into his duds for a photoshoot today. Or maybe tomorrow.

Anyway, Charlie wanted to be Shaggy, perhaps the easiest costume known to moms.

My adorable little Shaggy.

I took an oversized green tee from the Dollar Tree ($1) and altered it to have a big v-neck. We added red pants – I was going to have him wear brown pants, but he said Shaggy’s pants were red and I didn’t care enough to fight over it – which we already had, black church shoes which we already had, and the little Scooby-Doo that he got for his birthday. To finish it up, I took some brown eyeliner and drew the Shaggy scruff onto his chin. Total cost: $1!

Here’s Shaggy being scared of a ghost:

Zoinks!!

I love that kid.

Let’s talk about links! First, check out these creative leaf-based decorations from A Subtle Revelry.

You know, when we move, I’m going to have trees around my house. Lots of trees. Big, leafy trees. Maple and oak and redbud and I don’t care if I have to rake repeatedly every fall. I love leaves.

Next up: pumpkin oatmeal scotchies?

I’m not sure Greg would ever forgive an alteration of his favorite cookie on the planet, but these pumpkiny oatmeal scotchies from The Sweets Life look intriguing.

These Harry Potter Halloween costumes from A Lemon Squeezy Home are spectacular.

Some of the sibling costumes that I’ve seen this year are just ADORABLE, and this is an excellent example. Can anyone think of a good ‘theme’ costume for four boys? Anyone? Bueller?

Finally, I’m assuming this Pumpkin Pie Frosting from Handle the Heat could be eaten straight from the bowl.

In fact, looking more closely at the recipe, it appears to be a crustless pumpkin pie that you beat to frosting consistency after baking. Because who doesn’t love pie on their cupcakes?!
