“Go and crochet an Arkie, Arkie!” Heehee. A few months ago my search for a Noah’s Ark crochet pattern ended in – well, I was utterly unable to find a free Noah’s Ark, but I bought one off of e-patternscentral.com for five dollars. It’s nice! Of course, it doesn’t have a zebra, and I don’t like the ark pattern (I’m going to make an ‘ark’ tote, instead) but it was far and away the best one I could find. The plan was – and still is – to have it finished in time for my son’s birthday at the end of the summer.
I made good headway, but then I got sidetracked by something. Then something else. Then something else, and so on, the end result being that I haven’t worked on it for about a month and a half. Here’s what I have completed, so far:
As you can see, there are only a few pairs done so far, and unless I do something quick, giraffes will disappear from the world! But blech, what is worse than picking up in the middle of a huge project? I’m sure it’ll be fun once I get into it again, but I don’t wanna!
Oh my gosh. That is the cutest! Are the spots on the giraffe crocheted in, or do you have to embroider them on after? My daughter LOVES animals and we have a lot of Noah’s Ark and zoo themed toys for her, but I never thought of making one! I’m going to have to find that pattern.
The spots are embroidered on, after: if you look closely you can see that they’re made of little ‘x’es. Go to e-patternscentral and search for ‘noah.’ The nice thing about them is that they email you the patterns, so there’s no waiting. I hate waiting.
I love Noah. He is so cute with his gray hair. I cant wait to see more.
Thank you so so much for your comment on my baby thing. I really appreciate it. Its a huge step for the husband and I. I liked your pics on this blog. I plan to check back often.
