I’ve added a ‘portrait’ doll of myself to the sidebar – I feel like it makes it a little more friendly in here. This is actually part of what I’ve been doing with myself over the past week and a half – my doll is heavily altered. I got the idea while I was reading Natalie’s blog, HookStars. As you can see if you’ve been there, she has an awesome doll, toting some yarn, a project, and a crochet hook. I thought it would be fun to make a doll of myself.
It was, it was a lot of fun – I took it pretty far, aside from giving her a crochet hook and some yarn, I added more of a bosom and some ‘ba-boom’ in the thighs, because if there’s one thing I’m not, it’s stick-thin. She looks a lot like me now, for a cartoonish little pixel doll.
Still no teeth in sight, and he’s not fussing over it, anymore. Sometimes I wonder if he’ll ever get teeth!
Cute doll!
Yeah, I wouldn’t worry about the teeth thing…they’ll come when they’re darn good and ready and not a moment before. Take comfort in the fact that there are no college freshmen whose teeth haven’t come in yet…
I spent so much time when my kids were young comparing them and their progress to others, that I forgot to relax and enjoy it! Enjoy those toothless grins, they’re gone so soon…
Hi, Melissa!
You have such a nice blog! Your doll is so cute, and I like your dragon counter too!
Oh, and thanks a lot for linking to me.
Hi Melissa, love the portrait!
Too many hooks—oh, girl, I’m feelin’ ya! I am sooo glad they go “ping” so we can find the little buggers then we know exactly how many we do have! 😆
One can never have too many hooks, esp. when you come across them at yard sales, etc.

I saw that doll making thing yesterday, but I couldn’t get it to work right for me. I’ll try again later when I’m not so frazzled. Wanna know something cool? I LOVE crochet and I’m a stay-at-home mommy too. I had my son when I was 20, he’s 2 going on about 10 and I’m 23 feeling more like 40. It’s an incredible journey. Have fun!!
