New Patterns in the Store

I’m excited to announce a pair of new pattern available in the pattern store!

First up: Tommy was Han Solo for Halloween this year, and I decided to make a little Chewbacca to go with his costume. (Good call, I think – he LOVES him.) You can get your own copy of the pattern here.

Han and Chewy

Next up, something a little different! SOMEONE is getting a little fairy for Christmas this year. I hope she likes it. It was so much fun designing something girly!

Wee Fairy Bluebell

You can pick up your own copy of this little bluebell fairy here.

I have a few more things to put together before Christmas, so there might be some more designs released in the next month!

Cocoa-Haters Hot Chocolate Mix

I like making my own hot cocoa mix. It’s easy…it’s cheap…I know what’s in it…plus, I think it’s good. Too bad my husband has never liked any of the recipes I’ve tried. Me, I like my cocoa like I like my chocolate – dark and cocoa-y. Sometimes I even make it with the Special Dark cocoa just to make it darker! Him, on the other hand, the lightest hint of a cocoa bitterness and the rest of his mug will languish unconsumed. (Or get handed off to a kid.)

For that reason I’m proud to announce that I’ve finally discovered the elusive ratio that will make a drink that’s creamy and chocolate-y without being the least cocoa-y.

Cocoa-Haters Hot Chocolate Mix

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups dry milk powder
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 c cocoa
  • 3/4 c white chocolate chips
  • 1/8 tsp salt

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients.
  2. Run mix through a food processor until the chips are finely ground and everything is well incorporated.
  3. Makes approx 4 cups. Store in an airtight container.
  4. Add 3-4 tablespoons (or to taste…I’m not judging you) to 1/2-3/4 cups hot milk. Water works, milk is clearly better. Stir well and enjoy!
