Turkey Math

Turkey Math

Thanksgiving + math = fun! I bought two packs of foam sheets (from the dollar store!) and cut out ten turkey shapes, all in the same color. Then I cut out TONS of feathers from the other colors and sat down with a sharpie writing nearly every permutation of addition or subtraction that equaled 1-10. (There are a lot.) I used the front and the back, because I’m lazy and didn’t want to cut out twice as many! A little bit of glue gunning and some sharpie turned my turkey shapes into cute little number turkeys…and that’s it. The kids like to give the turkeys tails by finding the feathers that add up or subtract to the number on the turkey’s stomach. We could probably invent some more elaborate rules for it if they got tired of doing that, but they haven’t yet!
