So you know how sometimes…

…you work, and work, and work on something, and then you get it almost completely finished and realize that you’ve made it a little bit too big? Not someplace easy to take off, either (like the part you just did), but a little too much of the beginning section. Or it’s a little too wide. And it’s far enough off that it will drive you crazy if you don’t fix it, but you would have to undo and redo so much work that it makes you want to pass out somewhere with a cold compress and a fudge sundae, and then you start to wonder desperately if you could just sort of cut off the stitches you don’t need and then sew the edge up so that it doesn’t unravel?

Yeah. That totally works. And I’m never, never, ever telling how I know.

Not only do I know…but just READING about it makes me feel a bit faint. Is there enough of that sundae for both of us? 😮

Learning to fix mistakes is a tremendous blessing we get from making mistakes! It is how true experts are made, not from never making mistakes!

Oh, thank you for making my day! I just finished a garment (my own design thus mistake) that looks fabulous and I swear it fit all along the way. Once finished – well lets not go there. The happy news is that I’m giving it a friend and making a second applying what I learned from the first. I do like the sundae idea – we could just pass out spoons and feel better together!

Oh yes. I am still looking for a receiver for something I made too big for me, and yet I still haven’t been able to find anyone. Good luck with yours!

Oh dear. Maybe I could just mail my shrug to you and have you fix it? It’s somewhere at the very bottom of a very deep bin of yarn and I refuse to touch it, look at it, be near it, know it exists…
